The Boy and The Nails
- A young boy was always angry.
- Bag of nails his father gave him.
- Challenged him to hammer them on the fence whenever he loses his temper.
- Driving down the nails on the fence, he did it well.
- “Excellent!” he said especially on the first day, he did 37 nails.
- Few weeks had gone.
- Gradually, the number of nails declined
- He was able to control his temper.
- Informed his father that it is easier to control his temper than to drive a nail in the fence.
- Just after his realization, his father suggested an idea.
- “Knowing you have learned to control your temper now,” he said.
- “Loosen up a nail you madly hammered for each day you have held your temper.
- Many days passed. Just after his realization, his father suggested an idea.
- Now the boy has completely removed all the nails on the fence.
- On the last day of him loosening a nail, he told his father.
- “Papa, at last, I removed all the nails on the fence.”
- Quietly, the father took the boy’s hand and led him.
- Reaching the fence, the father said, “Well done, my son. But look at the holes in the fence, it has never gone back as before.”
- “Saying things when in anger could leave a scar like this one.”
- “The knife you can put in a man and draw it out. It does not matter how many times you say sorry, the scar will still be there.”
- Understanding how powerful the boy’s words were during the times he was angry, he asked for forgiveness.
- Valued son as he is always, the father said, “Of course, I forgive you, my son.”
- We cannot always blame anger but actions in general.
- Exaggerated we may become especially when we are mad; but, we need to watch what we do today; sometimes the price isn’t worth the reward.
- Yo!
- Zend this to all your friends, I will gladly appreciate.
